This stunning historic grade II listed building will hold host to multiple CL Paranormal Ghost Hunts.

We look to investigate the reports of the Old Beneficial School being one of the Most Haunted buildings in Portsmouth. Dating back to 1784 you can imagine how many people have passed in and out of this
building since then. Built on a plot of land that cost only £280.

In 1939 the school closed due to the outbreak of World War 2 and was re-opened in 1945 under
Portsmouth Council as a junior school.

The beneficiary school's punishment was severe to the children with use of a birch.

The school closed 1962, when the building became a youth training centre until 2004 when a fire nearly destroyed the building. On the 20th May 2010 the theatre re-opened it doors.

Some of the Staff spent the night at the building and held several séances, calling out to any spirits
in the building, and were quite surprised whe they played back the recording device and heard the
soft voice of a child. Combining this with hearing tapping noises and some Orbs were photographed the
'Old Benny' lives up to the rumours.

Spirits contacted revealed that a picture was stolen but never left the building, could it still be there and
what is this picture?

The Old Beneficial School has a fantastic amount of history. A lot of the original features, fireplaces, a
large wooden dresser, original floorboards and flagstones together with two very large ornamental sash windows still remain and give this wonderful building a truly unique atmosphere.

The Old Beneficial School is a beautiful grade 2 listed building dating back to the Georgian period. It was
one of the first free schools in the country but its upper floors once housed a club and concert hall.

An interesting fact is that Elizabeth (Barrow) Dickens, the mother of Charles, was actually attending a performance of a play at the 'Beneficial', when she went into labour with Charles.

Now we go there to find the truth in the rumours that 'Old Benny' has in excess of 15 Ghosts/spirits and a friendly poltergeist.

Will you join us on what hopefully will be a night to remember?
